About the Artist

Adriana Cervi was born in the city of Córdoba, Argentina in 1958. Her work, which is in a constant state of flux, testifies to her reflective and observant gaze upon an era marked by constant change. Through an artistic salvation, she tries to capture the essence of the human being in communion with nature, which she takes as a model of order and harmony, feeling the fragility and strength of humanity.
She began her training in the workshop of Martiniano Scieppaquercia, continuing between 1986 and 1988 with artist Roger Mantegani. Her academic journey progressed at the National University of Córdoba (UNC), where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Painting in 1996. She later deepened her studies with postgraduate degrees in Illustration—Artist’s Books—and in Restoration focused on Heritage Architecture, both at the UNC. Driven by her ongoing curiosity and artistic interests, she has participated in various courses and seminars, including Clínicas de Obra (Work Clinics) with Lic. Carolina Baulo (2015); Objetos del Pensamiento Contemporáneo (Objects of Contemporary Thought) with Prof. Tomás Borovinsky (Torcuato Di Tella University, 2021); and La Naturaleza Diseñada (Designed Nature) with Dr. Pablo La Padula (Cultural Science Center, 2020),
among others.

In the early stages of her career, Adriana focused her work on landscape, creating quiet, metaphysical atmospheres in large formats, building through the use of colour. However, in her search to understand and interpret a world in constant transformation, she began to explore new forms of representation, moving away from the academic conventions. In this new phase, paper becomes the central support of her creation and nature her best ally for her work and conceptual development. She embarked on an exploration of minerals and processes for extracting pigments, where alchemy became not just a method of transmutation but a process of spiritual order.
Her artistic investigation reflects careful anthropomorphic abstract aesthetics, where nature occasionally takes on human features. Her focus is on identity, in a world where borders are increasingly blurred, using nature as an example of renewal.

Adriana has maintained an intense artistic activity, participating in numerous solo and group exhibitions, as well as salons and biennials. Her work is part of various public and private collections, both in Argentina and abroad.

She currently resides in the city of Córdoba, Argentina, where she continues her artistic journey.
