Visual artist, born in Córdoba, Argentina, in 1958, Adriana Cervi has developed a body of work in constant transformation, reflecting a profound perspective on an era defined by continuous change. Her practice seeks to recover the essence of humanity in communion with nature, which she embraces as a model of order, harmony, and resilience, while exploring both human vulnerability and strength.
Her artistic education began in the studios of the masters Martiniano Scieppaquercia and later Roger Mantegani.
She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Painting from the National University of Córdoba in 1996, where she also completed postgraduate studies in Illustration and Artist's Books, as well as Architectural Heritage Restoration.
Cervi continues to pursue an ongoing process of artistic development through seminars, workshops, and studio critiques, including a Studio Practice Clinic with Carolina Baulo; the seminar Objects of Contemporary Thought led by Tomás Borovinsky at Torcuato Di Tella University (2021); and Designed Nature, taught by Dr. Pablo La Padula at the Cultural Center of Science (2020), among others.
During the early years of her career, landscape painting was the central focus of her practice. Working in large formats, she created silent, contemplative atmospheres informed by a romantic reflection on identity.
A new phase of her work later emerged through an effort to understand a world shaped by globalization. Moving beyond academic conventions, she developed a new visual language in which paper became her primary support and nature her closest collaborator. She began an extensive exploration of minerals and the processes involved in extracting natural pigments. Within this practice, alchemy evolved beyond the idea of material transformation, becoming instead a process of spiritual order.
Her work embodies a sustained artistic investigation. At times, nature assumes an abstract anthropomorphic presence, occasionally acquiring a human face. Her practice ultimately centers on questions of identity within a world where boundaries have become increasingly blurred, using the earth itself as both material and conceptual ground for reflection.
Her work is held in public and private collections in Argentina and internationally.
She currently lives and works in Córdoba, Argentina, where she continues to expand her artistic practice.
